Distance Learning Resources

With Oklahoma schools moving to distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, OEA has compiled resources to help educators and students in these unprecedented times.

The Bridge

The Bridge is a movement designed to connect educators with families looking for enrichment, ideas, and teacher-created content during the statewide coronavirus shutdown.

We have six Facebook groups create that connect — lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and high school. We also have groups for special education and for English language learners.

Will you help build the bridge? Teachers are invited to share ideas and videos to help support our families!

Drop Everything and Read DEAR Oklahoma

Join OEA for 20 minutes of Drop Everything And Read time! DEAR Oklahoma is a time for everyone to enjoy a good book together while school is out.

Read whatever you want, wherever you are! Big books, little books, lots of words, no words — pick the book that’s just right for you. Then share a picture of yourself

enjoying DEAR time and use the hashtag #DEARoklahoma.

We’re going to DEAR every Monday for the rest of the school year. We’ll have a special surprise reader each week, and we’ll even have a few prizes to give away.

(If you’d like to be a guest reader or would like to donate prizes, please email cjacobs@okea.org. Thank you!)
