State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister announced Thursday that the Oklahoma State Department of Education was applying for a federal waiver for testing and the A-F school report card.
OEA President Alicia Priest response:
“Suspending testing this year is the right thing to do. With schools out at least another week and conditions looking like the closure could be longer, students will have a very difficult time getting ready for testing. We’ve always said one test on one day doesn’t define a child, a teacher or school. A waiver would remove a huge weight off the shoulders of students and teachers.”
