Oklahoma Women’s Coalition visiting OEA members

woman in a blue dressThe executive director of the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition will be the featured speaker at the OEA We’re Stronger Tuesdays lobby day this week. 

Liz Charles will discuss health education legislation and issues affecting Oklahoma’s women and children. She is scheduled to speak to educators and support staff at the OEA office Tuesday afternoon. 

The Oklahoma Women’s Coalition advocates for gender equity and justice through policy, advocacy, and education. Their legislative priorities include pay transparency, criminal justice reform, and other issues. 

Before joining the Oklahoma Women’s Coalition, Charles worked at the American Heart Association and the Oklahoma Disaster Recovery Project. She is a native of Tulsa.

The OEA Legislative and Political Organizing team hosts unique speakers each week to offer members insight into issues that affect education and our students.
